Short trousers seemed to be the order of the day at Leeds City station on 11 December 1965, as young spotters await the departure of "The Waverley", a Warwickshire Railway Society special. The railtour was surely one of the outstanding trips of the 60's with haulage from Birmingham by a LMS Class 5, Leeds to Carlisle with Jubilee no. 45697 "Achilles" (pictured), LNER A2 to Edinburgh, LNER A4 to York and Class 5 back to Birmingham.
