It really doesn't make much sense running a diesel powered train for all its journey under the wires. A Virgin 221 speeds south through a pastoral North Staffordshire scene on 10.00 Glasgow-Birmingham. In steam days this was the site of Whitmore Watertroughs on 22nd October 2008.
