The Arun Valley line is not the only mainline from London still controlled by semaphore signals. Unit No. 375611 arrives at Canterbury East on the 18th October 2011 working the 13.45 Dover Priory to Victoria. The train is passes Canterbury East box due to close over the Christmas/New Year period. When the box closes the semaphore signals will be taken down and LED colour light signals will replace them and will be controlled from the East Kent Signalling centre in Gillingham. Once the work is complete the only semaphore signals in Kent will be along the line from Dover to Minster Junction.
