SR Bulleid unrebuilt West Country Pacific No. 34023 "Blackmore Vale" and BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80145 both wait departure from Waterloo on 18th August 1965. No. 80145 was withdrawn in June 1967 and No. 34023 was withdrawn a month later, but was purchased by the Bulleid Preservation Society. After an overhaul in 2000 at its home The Bluebell Railway No. 34023 returned to its original number 21C123 and original name "Blackmoor Vale". In 2016 No. 34023 now requires £200K funding for a new inner firebox.
