A southbound inter-regional service from Yorkshire to the South West formed of an Inter City 125 unit passes a derailed Class 58 No. 58019 and some HAA hopper wagons at Branston Junction, south of Burton-on-Trent on 21st November 1986. The Class 58 had come to grief while hauling a loaded merry-go-round coal train from the Coalville area the previous afternoon. As can be seen in the photograph it was in a position precariously close to the down main line of the busy Derby to Birmingham route.
