Class 47/8 No. 47846 'Thor' is pictured on the double track section of railway leading from Drakelow Power Station to Drakelow East Curve Junction, on the Burton-on-Trent to Knighton Junction freight-only line on 6th April 1991. The locomotive is providing the motive power for an Institute of Mining Engineers charter train, appropriately named the 'East Midlands Railtour' that had started from London St Pancras earlier in the day and had already traversed several colliery and power station lines in the East Midlands before its visit to the Drakelow complex
