You can almost smell the paint on North British Type 2 diesel hydraulic Class 22 No. 6352, in ex-works condition at Gloucester Horton Road MPD in 19th March 1970. Could this have been the last one of the Class to receive a overhaul? New from Glasgow in July 1962 and first allocated to Laira (83D), the loco had a tragically short working life of less than 9 years, being withdrawn in May 1971 and cut-up at Swindon Works during November of that year.
