Brush Class 47 diesel electric No. 47500 'Great Western' rests between duties at Gloucester Horton Road MPD on 22nd October 1984. New from Loughborough as No. D1943 in June 1966 and first allocated to the Western Lines (LM), it was named at Old Oak Common on 27th February 1979, a name it carried until September 1991. The loco later became No. 47770 and carried the name 'Reserved'. It survives as a member of the West Coast fleet, stationed at Carnforth.
