W22W was built in 1940 for the GWR and is powered by two AEC 9.6 litre engines; since its arrival at the Great Western Society's premises at Didcot it has been rebuilt and refurbished to a very high standard. During the GWS 1970s Shedbash diesel gala over the bank holiday weekend it worked a shuttle service between Didcot Halt and the Broad Gauge Transfer Shed known as Burlescombe. In this image dated 25th May 2013 the railcar is about to pass Radstock North Box and enter Didcot Halt station as the signalman collects the token from the driver.
