Class 37/0 No. 37188 'Jimmy Shand' in BR large logo blue / yellow livery complete with a large Eastfield MPD West Highland Terrier emblem enters Glasgow Queen Street Station on Friday 10th June 1985. New to Landore MPD Swansea in January 1964 as No. D6888 and renumbered under TOPS as No. 37188 during April 1974, she transferred to Eastfield MPD Glasgow from Bristol Bath Road in April 1982. Named 'Jimmy Shand' after a famous Scottish musician at Oban in May 1985, hence her very clean appearance in this photo. Apart from a short spell at Immingham TMD in 1992 No. 37188 remained a Scottish loco until Febreuary 1995 when transferred to Crewe, then Bescot TMD. Withdrawn in March 1996 she was stored for several years before being bought for preservation in August 2003 and arrived at Peak Rail during February 2006 where restoration continues.
