Built by Pressed Steel at it's Linwood factory near Glasgow the set, formed of the 3 vehicles in the photo, entered service in September 1960 from Reading MPD for use on commuter services out of Paddington. The unit was transferred to Bristol Bath Road in the mid 1980s, and reached Tyseley TMD by 1990. DMBS No. 51368 was withdrawn in April 1999 and scrapped by MC Metal Processing in Glasgow the same month while DMS No. 51410 had been scrapped, also by MC Metals, in September 1996 having been withdrawn the same month. The centre car TCL No. 59520 was more fortunate in being bought for preservation upon its withdrawal in December 1995 and can be nowadays be found at the Dartmoor Railway in Devon.
