With its chimney bagged, Stanier Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 44800 sits stored at Crewe South MPD on 22nd July 1967. Following its transfer from Shrewsbury in March 1967, the loco was deemed surplus to requirements and put to store. It was reinstated and transferred to Lostock Hall in August of that year. New from Derby Works in May 1944 as LMS No. 4800, it was finally withdrawn in March 1968 and scrapped by Drapers of Hull during June of that year.
