Railfreight grey with red solebar-liveried Class 20 No. 20077 is stabled outside BR Derby Works on 7th June 1986 alongside withdrawn prototype Class 41 HST powercar No. 975813. Very recently repainted after a general repair in the adjacent workshops it is interesting to note that the headcode discs have been included in the overhaul process even though their use had officially ended in 1977. This would be the last major repair that No. 20077 would receive as it was very badly damaged in an incident at Bickershaw Colliery, Lancashire in early 1988 which saw the loco condemned. After a period of storage at Doncaster Works No. 20077 was eventually scrapped by Vic Berry at Leicester during May 1990.
