In EWS red and yellow livery Class 09/1 No. 09106 passes south through Doncaster Station via the up fast line on 22nd July 2008 with an engineering trip freight formed of one Network Rail and five Railtrack-liveried bogie vehicles. Built at BR Horwich Works as No. D3927 she entered BR service from Ardrossan MPD, Ayrshire in February 1961. Becoming Class 08 No. 08759 under the 1970's TOPS renumbering scheme she was later converted into a Class 09/1 and as No. 09106 re-entered BR service during 1993. Still in active use 55 years after construction No. 09106 is currently operating from Knottingley Depot in unbranded DB red livery.
