NSB Class El 9 No. 9.2063 pictured on 1st 5th August 2016 inside the Flamsbana Railway Museum at Flam. The NSB El 9 is a retired class of three electric locomotives built in 1944 and were delivered in 1947 after a three-year delay caused by wartime sabotage in response to the German occupation of Norway. They were used nearly exclusively on the Flåm and Hardanger Lines being well suited to the steep gradients on these branch lines. The locos were used on the Flåm Line until 1983 and two are now preserved, the other being at Tinnoset.
