Still a novelty (after 154 years!) to have trains flying past the rooftops of the historic houses located on the some time Oxford to Salisbury coaching road, at times several thousand tonnes of Somerset stone passes by with barely any impact on life going on below on the High Street in Hungerford. Class 66/7 No. 66750 'Bristol Panel Signal Box' is in charge of the only regular GBRf working on the route taking stone from Whatley Quarry to Wellingborough. On empties were bumped off their slot by a steam special but they were right on time two days later on 25th August 2016.
