At the time one of Britain's heaviest trains, the 3000 tonne plus Port Talbot - Llanwern iron ore working is seen heading through Cardiff Central on 22nd August 1983 behind Class 56s No. 56038 and 56044. No. 56038 will be overhauled for GBRf while No. 56044 was scrapped in 2000.
