A shovelful of coal, ironically, helps to brighten a gloomy day by adding considerable visual interest to the steamy exhaust from GWR Castle class loco No. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' as it heads Vintage Trains' Cotswolds Explorer entering the Vale of White Horse near Bourton on the way to its Oxford stopover on 8th October 2016. This clear view will be lost when the electrification masts are erected on the footings already in place at the trackside.
