Under the watchful eye of the North British Station Hotel Class 104 3 car DMU (104)457 leaves Edinburgh Waverley Station on 7th September 1988. Formed of DMCL No. 53504, with white cab roof leading, TBSL No. 59228 and DMCL No. 53556 she is leaving Edinburgh Waverley, along with an unidentified Class 101 DMU, on an afternoon service for Glasgow Central. Transferred from Newton Heath MPD in November 1986 101457 spent just under two years in Scotland firstly at Ayr and then Eastfield MPD before transferring back to Newton Heath during October 1988. DMCL No. 53504 was withdrawn in September 1989 and scrapped by Vic Berry, Leicester during December 1989 while the other two vehicles still survive in unrestored condition at the Telford Steam Railway.
