A view familiar to those visiting the Great Central Railway today, this was the scene on 5th May 1966 with LMS Black 5 4-6-0 No. 45292 drifting into Loughborough Central with a local working from Rugby to Nottingham Victoria. Note the gap in the buildings where the Ladybird Books building was erected, and now closed. The Water Tower is still a feature at this location on the Great Central Railway and the dismantled down goods line is now a carriage siding.
