As the days shorten the focal lengths get longer and still we struggle for light. Class 59/2 No. 59202 comes off Hungerford Common on 19th December 2016 with a mixed rake of empties for Whatley Quarry seen trailing off into the distance. This train from Theale Depot has always been difficult to photograph before leaving Berkshire as it often runs early and only appears on the RTT radar at Newbury. However with the advent of Open Train Times signalling maps, its progress today was charted as soon as the signal allowing entry to the main line at Theale changed to green.
