In the Spring of 1990 BR North Eastern Region ran a series of special trains using unusual motive power in addition to the scheduled Class 47 on the 08:25 Leeds - Carlisle and return service. Here, Class 25 No. 25912 is seen at Shipley with Class 47 No. 47422 tucked inside about to depart for Carlisle on 24th February 1990. Carrying its original number D7672, the Class 25 had been repainted by Holbeck Depot into two tone green and named Tamworth Castle. After renumbering from 25322 into the Class 25/9 fleet as 25912 in November 1985, the locomotive was the last Class 25 to be taken out of traffic in April spending its last few years as a training locomotive at Holbeck. It survives in preservation.
