Ayr MPD based 3 Car Class 107 Set No. 107447 has just passed Prestwick Airport, Scotland on 28th September 1984. The landing lights for Runway 13 at Prestwick can be seen across the top of the picture. Led by DMCL No. 52029 in very clean BR Blue and Grey livery complete with silver buffer heads 107447 also carries the Trans-Clyde logo on the rear coach, DMBS vehicle No. 52008. The Class 107 units spent all their working lives in Scotland, mostly on Glasgow area suburban duties, although a few, including both driving vehicles pictured here, were allocated to Haymarket MPD, Edinburgh later in their lives. Both DMBS No. 52008 and DMCL No. 52029 shown here were withdrawn during October 1992 and suprisingly both survive today in preservation, with DMBS No. 52008 at the Strathspey Railway and DMCL No. 52029 currently at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. The identity of the TSL vehicle in the centre of the formation has unfortunately been lost with the passage of time.
