Class 47/4 No. 47457 'Ben Line', in BR large logo blue livery with a grey roof and silver painted buffer heads, is an unusual visitor to Paddington Station on 9th April 1987 as it awaits departure time at the country end of the station. Allocated to Gateshead TMD when new in April 1964 as Brush Type 4 No. D1577 she had returned there by the time of this photo, the Gateshead Depot emblem can be seen above the TOPS panel behind the drivers door. Strangely Old Oak Common would become her last home when following several Depot moves she transferred to Old Oak during July 1991 before being withdrawn shortly afterwards in February 1992. MRJ Phillips eventually disposed of No. 47457 at Old Oak Common during May 1997.
