Inside the Middleton Top Engine House, seen here on 30th April 2017 at the 50th anniversary of the closure of the C&HPR from Middleton Top to Friden, is the oldest winding engine and the oldest rotative steam engines (on their original site) in the world, which were being demonstrated in action on this day.
