Class 76s No. 76021 and 76037 are seen stabled at Wath Depot on 30th March 1979. On the left can be seen the extensive yards with Class 37, 47 and 56 seen stabled. This scene has now been completely obliterated with few signs that there was ever a railway at this location. Introduced in 1951/52 the class 76 was used on the 1500V DC electrified Woodhead route from Sheffield to Manchester untilits closure in 1981 when both locomotives were withdrawn.
