The driver of Class 59/1 No. 59103 is taking in a brief glimpse of the view up the historic High St in Hungerford as his train of empties from Kent to Whatley Quarry flashes past on the long steel span over the wide old coaching road on 1st August 2017. This street scene in the style of O. Winston Link shows how closely the railway and life in the town can co-exist harmoniously, with the locals barely noticing the passing of trains weighing thousands of tonnes.
