The Derby Industrial Museum at the Silk Mill had a large area of exhibits showing the importance of the Railways to the City. This museum was mothballed in early April 2011 and the Railwayana could No. longer be seen. An example seen here on 2nd April 2011 is the smokebox door from what could be called the forgotten Jinty LMS Class 3F 0-6-0T No. 47564 (LMS 16647), remaining as a boiler and frames as spares at the Midland Railway Butterley. It has been announced that funding will allow the Midland Railway exhibits and models to be shown once again at the Silk Mill within the intended new Museum of Making, but not until refurbishment has been completed in Summer 2020!
