The Swanage Railway is currently on an engineering shutdown until mid February. On January 16th 2018 the signalbox and water column can be seen receiving some maintenance work. Adjacent to the signal box is the railways Case 988 Megarailer, known as "Big Daddy" employed on track replacement work. In the distance stabled in the run round loop an engineering train that includes Crane No. CB5968.
