Second oldest of the AC electrics, Class 81 No. 81002 arrives at Crewe on 22nd May 1986 with the 12:15 Brighton - Liverpool Lime Street cross country service which it will have taken over at Birmingham New Street. Withdrawn in 1990, the locomotive survives in preservation at Barrow Hill.
