Class 37s Nos. 37678 and 37688 head through Chinley on 4th July 1987 with the 15.40 Tunstead - Oakleigh loaded aggregates working. No. 37678 was withdrawn in December 2000 and scrapped in June 2007. No. 37688 faired better, enjoying a lengthy spell as a DRS locomotive before moving into preservation on the Mid Norfolk Railway in 2017.
