Once the staple motive power of Central Wales, Class 25s were quite infrequent visitors by the time this photograph was taken on 1st 9th March 1986. Here No. 25230 is seen stabled at Machynlleth having worked into the area earlier in the day with an inspection saloon. The locomotive saw just five more months of service, being withdrawn in August 1986 and scrapped in July 1987.
