The only surviving Clayton Class 17 No.D8568 awaits departure from Eridge on 1st September 2018 with the 14.30 service to Tunbridge Wells West. The locomotive was built at Hatton, Derby was new to service on 6th January 1964 and spent all of her BR working life in Scotland, firstly at Haymarket until 28th September 1968 and then at Polmadie. Following withdrawal on 6th October 1971 the locomotive saw industrial use at Hemelite, Hemel Hempstead and at Ribblesdale Cement, Clitheroe before being taken into preservation in 1982.
