Class 802 IETs with up-rated diesel engines are now to be seen working GWR expresses to Devon and Cornwall via the Berks & Hants line as they take over from retiring Class 43-powered HSTs. Class 802/0 No. 802006 accompanied by No. 802010 form the lunchtime Paddington - Penzance service seen passing alongside the K&A canal approaching Crofton curve on 27th September 2018. It has to be said that the smooth and sleek lines of these IETs are somewhat compromised by the inelegant contraption of brackets, levers and dampers mounted on the the bogies.
