Complete with a newly fitted headlight a very recent transfer to Inverness TMD, Class 37/0 No. 37184 is seen passing Erdushaig around a mile into it's journey with the 17:10 Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness service on 22nd September 1982. The leading coach in the train is ex GWR Collett First Class Saloon No. 9004, built in 1930, which latterly had been converted to be the NE Regions CCE Saloon. This was the only year that No. 9004 operated as an observation coach on this regular diagram, working the 10:55 Inverness - Kyle of Lochalsh and 17:10 return. No. 9004 survives in preservation today being noted at LNWR Crewe Heritage Centre during 2017 whereas Class 37/0 No. 37184 was not so fortunate being withdrawn from Bescot TMD during March 1996 and scrapped by TJ Thomson, Stockton in September 2001.
