During the late 1960s British Rail expanded its fleet of electric traction with 100 AL6, 25kV locomotives which would later be known as the Class 86. Over fifty years later, many of these fine locomotives are still to be found hard at work plying their trade throughout many parts of the UK electrified network. Here at Manningtree two 'Freightliner' Class 86/6s, No's. 86638 and sister 86604 are seen powering the lengthy 02:10 Trafford Park-Felixtowe North FLT on a very hot 22nd August 2019.
