The ECML was again closed between Newcastle & Edinburgh on 12th October 2019, necessitating LNER Services to be diverted along the Tyne Valley between Newcastle Central and Carlisle. Here, LNER Class 800/1 Hitachi Bi-Mode 'InterCity Express' No. 800103 passes under the Grade II listed, 1880's Passenger Footbridge and through Wetheral Station (opened in 1836 and re-opened in 1981) working the 10:30 London King's Cross to Edinburgh Service.
