In connection with major infrastructure work on the Seaford branch, engineering trains are being run on a ad hoc basis from Severington to Newhaven. This involves Freightliner Class 66/5 locomotives a type rarely seen on Coastway East. As the 2400 tonne train is so long it is unable to reverse at Eastbourne and has to use the rarely used crossover south of Hampden Park at Signal TEB.1380. Freightliner 66/5 66548 accelerates through Hampden Park Station on 14th October 2019.
