It is roughly fifteen years since the successful BREL Class 90s ousted the equally successful BR Class 86 locomotives on frontline passenger services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street. Here 'Greater Anglia' Class 90 No. 90015 'Colchester Castle' arrives at Ipswich while powering a Norwich-London Liverpool Street GA service. Like the Class 86 before them, the Class 90s are also due to be phased out over the coming months to be replaced by a new breed of Class 745 'Stadler-FLIRT' EMUs.
