The access tunnel from Water Street only opened at peak times in the morning and early evening to access platforms on the Wirral Line at James Street station Liverpool. Built in 1886 for the Mersey Railway along with Hamilton Square they are both the oldest deep level underground stations in the world. It is seen on 7th March 2020.
