On a sunny 30th January 1978 following a moderate fall of snow, National Coal Board owned Andrew Barclay 0-6-0T No. 24 hauls an empty rake of coal wagons as it nears the summit of the climb up from Waterside Washery on it's way to Pennyvenie Colliery, Dalmellington Ayrshire. Formed of 4 BR 16 ton and 12 NCB owned internal use coal wagons No. 24 is also pushing another NCB wagon in use as an extra supply of loco coal.
