A general view of NCB Pennyvenie Colliery Ayrshire, Scotland mid morning on 30th January 1978 finds Andrew Barclay 0-6-0T No. 24 taking a rest between shunting duties surrounded by blue sky and a recent snowfall. Situated alongside the B741 road northeast of Dalmellington the Colliery would close in July 1978. Fortunately the loco would pass into preservation, unlike the photographers car which with hindsight would appear not to be parked very thoughtfully.
