Class 43 Power Cars No. 43159 and No. 43102 approach Stenson Junction on 12th April 1997 with a northbound service. On 1st November 1987 these 2 Power Cars broke the world speed record for rail diesel traction achieving 148.5 mph south of Northallerton when on a 140mph trail for the testing of BT41 bogies for Mk4 coaches. In May 2021 No. 43102, on retirement from EMR, is due to join the National Collection at the NRM, but the future for No. 43159 is uncertain, currently stored at Burton. In the background note there is no footbridge at North Stafford Junction; this was erected in February 2003.
