A beautiful hot and sunny morning sees 'Merseyrail' Class 508 No. 508127 leading an unrecorded classmate as they approach the Liverpool suburb of Hunt's Cross while powering the 09:26 departure from Southport on 7th September 2021. The Class 508 EMUs were originally built as four-car units for the British Rail Southern region between 1979 and 1980. During the early 1980's they were transferred to the 'Merseyrail' network and reduced to three-car units ousting the elderly fleet of 1938 Class 503 EMU's.
