It is many years since there was a through service from King's Cross to Scarborough via the ECML. It is left to East Midlands trains to provide a service to the east coast resort from London St Pancras at 06.37 via the Midland Main Line to Sheffield and forward via Doncaster and York, operating on summer Saturdays only and taking 4 1/2 hours. Here on 21st August 2010 the train, formed of an unidentified Class 222 'Meridian', crosses the River Derwent at Huttons Ambo, near Malton on it's outward journey.
