on 28th February 2009 was a very significant day in the history of the restored Welsh Highland Railway for on that day celebrations were held at Porthmadog to mark the completion of track laying, all done by volunteer staff, from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. To commemorate this milestone 2 golden bolts(Brass) were inserted in the last fishplate. As well as showing the date, one bolt was marked ROTW(Rest of the World Gang) and the other BHG(Black Hand Gang), the respective gangs who had completed this remarkable feat. Here the respective bolts were photographed prior to the ceremony.
