Designed by Sir Vincent Raven, the NER class T2 0-8-0 No. 2238 passed into LNER stock as a Q6 class locomotive. The engine, owned by the NELPG, is seen here at Grosmont shed on 12nd August 1979. Today it is in BR black livery and numbered 63395. The NYMR heritage DMU passes with a service from Grosmont.
