As South-West trains EMUs 444034 and 450075 wait in the carriage sidings, just outside Poole Station, Bulleid Pacific, No. 34067, 'Tangmere' rounds the corner with the 'Dorset Coast Express' of on 9th August 2011. The locomotive has been coasting for while, down Parkstone Bank and into the curves at Poole Station, and now has a full head of steam, as indicated by the blowing-off of the safety-valves. A second after I took this photograph, the safety-valves clsed as the driver opened-up and accelerated away, no doubt trying to regain some of the fifteen minutes of late running at this point.
