To say that one loco was restored out of the sad remains of 6023 KING EDWARD II was nothing short of a miracle. The intention was to make one good machine out of two, the remains of 6024 can be seen minus chimney on the right. There was not an intact set of drivers between the two of them. As all now know, both were preserved and are both seen in regular steam.
