Class 60 No. 60044 is pictured passing through Burton-on-Trent on Monday 18th March 2013 behind Class 66 No. 66079 James Knightall GC heading for Toton TMD. No. 60044 has been in safe storage at St Blazey Depot in Cornwall and began its journey north to Bescot on the 15th March via Newport. After spending two days at the West Midlands Depot it was scheduled to complete the final leg of its journey to Toton TMD in the consist of 6D44, 11:09 Bescot Engineers Sidings to Toton North Yard engineers train. However, on the day, no engineering wagons needed to be transferred from Bescot to Toton, therefore the locomotive was hauled dead between the two depots as working 0D44. The Main Line blue-liveried Class 60 still sporting EWS decals on its bodyside has been selected to be included in the DB Schenker Class 60 refurbishment programme and following its overhaul is scheduled to be returned to active service.
